The trip starts outside Bergen Tourist office at Strandkaien. We will then take a local bus to Munkbotn, and immediately start our way to the top. First, we walk easily on the dirt road “Fjellveien”, but suddenly, we approach the famous Stoltzekleiven, or Stoltzen as they say in Bergen. Stoltzekleiven has a height difference of 300 meters - spread over approx. 900 running meters. The trail has an ascent of between 20% and 40%, average 35.8%. The first part of the trail has a relatively small climb. After that, it's steep until halfway, and from there on up to the top it only gets steeper and steeper. You get a little rest on the flatter part before the wooden stairs before the last steep part is forced up the stairs. You will definitely feel lactic acid! But…

The view at the top is magnificent! We take a rest, a lot to drink and just enjoy life and the view!

After the rest we continue our hike up in the mountains to lake Storevatnet, lake Rundemansdiket, and all the way up to mount Rundemanen (560 meters above sea level). Here we will have our lunch break, aware of that this is the highest point we are reaching.

When we are filled up with food and water, and new energy, we continue our hike into the mountains, heading towards mount Blåmanen. It is challenging to walk in the mountains but when reaching the cairn (Varde) at mount Blåmanen, we will all agree that it was worth the struggling, what a view!

We then start our way down from the highest peak of the mountain but still have a lot to look forward to: The cabin “Fjellhytten”, Skomakerdiket (shoemaker's dike), and last but not least the pride of the citizens of Bergen; Fløyen! Here we will have a long break, enjoy the view, maybe buy some drinks, ice cream, coffee, and just enjoy! Our hike ends at the same place where we started, outside Bergen Tourist office.
